One of the most remarkable Polish broodmatrons of all time, CANARIA was a mare ahead of her time as both an
individual and a consistent producer of world-class quality. She was in all ways the prototypical "modern" Arabian,
perfectly combining beauty, size and excellent movement. Born during the Second World War, CANARIA was unable
to be tested on the track and produced her first foal at age 4 in Germany, prior to the repatriation of the Janow
herd to Poland. As was the fate of many of the mares of her time, CANARIA's life was that a persistent travel, as a
premier broodmare for Janow Podlaski, Albigowa and Michalow, as well as Alfred Ericsson in Sweden, for whom
CANARIA bore her final foal at age 21. Of her sixteen foals, two sons and 6 daughters would come to influence
international breeding programs, propelling the breed forward with most
extraordinarily.
