1951 Grey Stallion Bred by El Zahraa, Egypt Measurements: 151-171-18
A gift to the Soviet Union from Egypt, NIL
was the first Egyptian stallion to be used in the Russian breeding program. Leaving just six foals behind in Egypt, NIL
left only two foal crops at Tersk before his untimely death at age 10. From those 16 foals emerged one important son,
Russian Chief Sire Naslednik, and three valuable daughters: Panel, Polnoch and Naina. Through Naslednik, NIL was credited
as establishing the El Deree sire line in Russia, and adding the many virtues of his sire EAO foundation sire Sid Abohoum to the Eastern European
gene pool. Had he lived long enough to be bred to the number and quality
of mares as had fellow Egyptian import Aswan, his lasting influence of leanness, wonderful action and ideal oriental type
would certainly have been greater.
